Duckwall Fruit is looking for an Accounting Clerk/Analyst to join the team!
Summary of the Job:
Ensure sales transactions are accurately maintained and recorded, balance ledgers, and reconcile accounts. Produce relevant management reports and analytic information across the organization using various BI and ad hoc tools. Work with department heads to assist in data gathering and analysis techniques by improving efficiency and consistency in reporting. Support employees with basic technology needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Manage the sales accounting function, including testing and verifying fruit received receipts, invoicing and accounts receivable, sales industry reporting and resolution of problems.
· Timely balance sales general ledger accounts.
· Accurate posting of payments and payables.
· Prepare weekly, monthly sales reports.
· Research and work with export sales team to develop procedures ensuring all export sales orders are recorded and invoiced on core processing system.
· Create written policy and report for past due sales accounts and tracking.
· Manage cannery and cull process, to include recording payments, reporting and closing cannery pool.
· Monitor and obtain insurance certificates of liability for customers.
· Assist with calls on the sales and main office incoming lines as needed.
· Manage brokerage payable, rebates and shipper payable process to readiness for accounts payable.
· Main point of contact with external contractor to produce relevant and timely management and analytic reports as requested by department heads using relevant BI and ad hoc reporting tools.
· Provide general frontline technology troubleshooting for employees, supported by external IT company as needed.
· Work with external IT to manage and prioritize their time while in our office.
· In conjunction with external IT document and set continuity of IT set-up and processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Minimum associate’s degree in Accounting or Computer Science, with accounting background; or 5 years of equivalent experience in analytical or accounting role.
· Preference given to candidate with 2 years’ experience with report development tools (i.e., Tableau or Cognos) and/or query creation (i.e., Access).
· Strong computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel and Access skills.
· Demonstrated knowledge of PC operating systems, experience with independent troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
· Quick learner with desire to take ownership of responsibilities.
· Impeccable attention to detail, analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple and/or shifting priorities while producing a quality product.
· Customer service-oriented mindset.
· Excellent English oral and written communication skills, bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
